After all the fanfare, AT&T is finally bringing MMS to the iPhone. The timing is shocking, because it’s 2009 – the iPhone is arguably the most advanced mass communication device on earth and MMS was hot in 2004. So, anyhow – this is still good news for Apple, investors, and iPhone owners like myself.

Here’s what I have so far…

SAN FRANCISCO -

Apple Inc. is dropping the retail price of the least expensive iPhone to $99 from $199 and introducing new models.

Apple executives said Monday at an annual conference for software developers that the newer iPhones will include some sought-after features such as a video camera, a compass and an auto-focus function on photos. A 16-gigabyte version will cost $199 and a 32-gigabyte model will be $299. They go on sale June 19.

Apple also cut prices on MacBook Pro laptops.

Despite anticipation that he might make a cameo, Apple CEO Steve Jobs did not take the stage at the event.

Half Assed America…

iAsked a co-worker about why the the Onion’s segment, “American Voices” systems analyst & piano teacher were talking about a delay of the World Trade Center to take up to 30 years.

American Voices, in case you didn’t know always has an obtuse, if not perverse look at real, everyday things in the news. The answers change depending on the topic, yet the faces do not. It’s truly one of the most solid and consistently funny things in the paper. What makes it stand out is that – it is the only thing in the Onion which really is true.

30 years? That is half-assed. Here is a few other items that were half assed in the history of our great land:

Statue of Liberty. A gift from the country of France, the statue of liberty camped out for years in a shed before grass-roots fundraiers by citizens and kids donating pennies raised enough capital to get New York off their asses.

The Washington Mounument Set smack dab near the middle of the Washington D.C. Capitol Hill, the Washington monument if really made from two different types of stone. You can clearly see that it is not one white glorious phallic pillar of power – it’s actually two types of stone, because after the USA started building it, they thought it cost too much.

What else can you think of that America has done half assed? Hone bridge, national parks, Foreign policy?

800,000 pound gorilla

Thunk hit 800,000 visitors earlier this week. That’s huge. I’ve had blogs that have had more hits than this one and clearly I’ve been neglecting it as a creative outlet, but still – the traffic endures and the hits keep coming. Congrats to Thunk Different, Apple, Google, Sex, iPhone’s, and every other keyword that have struck a chord and bring a daily average of 1,200 hits to this exact site.
