15,000 page views for the 100th post.

Hi readers,

Thanks for keeping up to date with Apple, Inc. & Things i Think. This is the 100th post for Thunk Different since we began posting on April 20th, 2007. We also reached over 15,000 views yesterday, added Digg, del.icio,us, FARK, newsvine, and other RSS readers to the base of every posting starting yesterday. If you go back and check you will see a few more than that b/c i added them on popular posts.

What has ThunkDifferent done thus far?

Gotten the word out. The amount of news that Apple & readers like you come up with is astounding. It is so much fun to write about and thanks for the questions, i always love to get fan mail. i’m sure i will be better to keep better track of all of the other Apple RSS feeds now as i recent downloaded a news reader myself, turning 2.0 is a journey, not a destination. (or at least one i fully understand at this time anyway.)

What can we expect in the near future?

The Thunk Different podcast. Fo’ Sure. i started podcasting in January of last year if you would like to check out some of my old shows, just google “expatpodcast” or go to expatpodcast.blogspot.com. i have moved over to wordpress since then and am glad to say i am quite happy with them.

What is 20weblogs?

20 weblogs is a new 2.0 web community of independent bloggers networking media channel throughout the web. Unlike most other blogging outfits, 20weblogs is not a profit driven collective. If you would like to find out more about them, go to 20weblogs.com and request an invitation.

WWDC, Whatcha think?!

Oh hell, i don’t know. i think that leopard will (hope) surprise. i have been reading about its architecture on some of the developer blogs and they have some interesting things to say. i personally think that in the next year we will see smaller more energy efficient chips from intel and AMD, touch screen imacs, and a big update to .mac service with iphone integration into the laptops, Apple TV, and more Google apps.

WordPress 2.3 released from Amazon!

WordPress 2.3 will likely be the next installment after today’s release of wordpress 2.2. The widget support will be improved and of course the overall compatibility. The Amazon plug is nothing more than the fact that i am excited by the new store development for DRM- free iRiver selections, the shiny new Alexa logo, and, of course, the possibility that WordPress 2.3 will be released into the wild someday.

TECH ASSISTANCE: Say, i still have trouble with YouTube as instructed by the WordPress blog, so any tips would be appreciated. Alright, Well Ready. Steady. Go download WordPress 2.3 when it comes out! (Link to 2.2 obviously as 2.3 is not yet released into the wild.)

UPDATE:  i figured it (YouTube plug-in) out.  i’m still waiting on a gcast plug-in however, maybe  you can e-mail support and ask too.

The iriver clix. ipod alternative?

i have owned a few ipods in my day. i first got into them with the black and white 15 gig brick. It was hard to read and not practical for jogging. The battery on that piece of hardware continually failed to the point that i figured out there WAS something wrong with that unit. So, a few years later, i returned in maxed out with music i kissed goodbye only to purchase a $70.00 replacement from the Apple store. i was so happy, but then the ipod was so dated. i never filled it up with music again and that was that. After that i bought my first mac about a year later, and 6 months after that, a refurbished ipod shuffle. i liked the little guy, until it got wet, quit functioning and i bought what i have coveted from the cNet reports and a nicely designed website, the iriver clix.

i was somewhat fooled into buying the original version off of ebay, but it came with that nifty looking cradle and man! I could get FM & record people in between watching videos and listening to music. i think watching videos on such a small screen is pretty useless, but some people get off on it. At any rate, i just got it, i am glad to have it, i just wish a few things were different. 1( That the FM worked with the cradle and that i could iTunes with it. If i can’t use any iTunes with it, its doomed to follow the footsteps of my ipods, but for know it is safe as i bask in ignorance of its reliability, compatibility, and lovely alarm clock like sheen in these golden morning moments. (oh, i read the specs before buying, but don’t kill my coffee buzz.)
