Thunk Different Reports: Hidden Camera in the Apple store for iPhone

June 29, 2007

iT is reported by a reporter on mogulus.tv that they are aware of a plan to hide a camera in the store.secret apple

eGads!

When reported, the show was being conducted by “Robyn” a blond man with a European accent just prior to a coffee break. he was inside the Apple store at the time.

iWrote in my previous post that it seems a little last minute, and it certainly feels that way. While the production quality is slightly higher than the production iwas going to do, it still seems very random with full chat rooms, emtpy message boards on skype, missed mic cues, their stream blacks out, battery charges & uneventful content. Perhaps when they start interview people it will be better, but until now, i haven’t seen anything new, excepert i did the hear the reporter in the manhattan store say he was aware of a plot to hide a hidden camera. it was not reported if this would be a ploy conducted by mogulus, an apple employee, or another… agent.

15,000 page views for the 100th post.

June 8, 2007

Hi readers,

Thanks for keeping up to date with Apple, Inc. & Things i Think. This is the 100th post for Thunk Different since we began posting on April 20th, 2007. We also reached over 15,000 views yesterday, added Digg, del.icio,us,bob thunk FARK, newsvine, and other RSS readers to the base of every posting starting yesterday. If you go back and check you will see a few more than that b/c i added them on popular posts.

What has ThunkDifferent done thus far?

Gotten the word out. The amount of news that Apple & readers like you come up with is astounding. It is so much fun to write about and thanks for the questions, i always love to get fan mail. i’m sure i will be better to keep better track of all of the other Apple RSS feeds now as i recent downloaded a news reader myself, turning 2.0 is a journey, not a destination. (or at least one i fully understand at this time anyway.)

What can we expect in the near future?

The Thunk Different podcast. Fo’ Sure. i started podcasting in January of last year if you would like to check out some of my old shows, just google “expatpodcast” or go to expatpodcast.blogspot.com. i have moved over to wordpress since then and am glad to say i am quite happy with them.

WWDC, Whatcha think?!

Oh hell, i don’t know. i think that leopard will (hope) surprise. i have been reading about its architecture on some of the developer blogs and they have some interesting things to say. i personally think that in the next year we will see smaller more energy efficient chips from intel and AMD, touch screen imacs, and a big update to .mac service with iphone integration into the laptops, Apple TV, and more Google apps.

Tell us about the iPhone.

Oh, just read my posts and the links about from two days ago, not hot off the presses, but as current & steamy as anyone else has.

Tell us more!!!

i will, just keep reading and asking questions and i will get back to you personally, i just added jaiku today too, so keep posted by reading one of the hardest things i am working on right now. The Thunk Different. Blog.

Movement: Detroit Music Festival.

June 1, 2007

whitestripes art

This past weekend i took a Megabus trip from Chicago to Detroit Rock City. Exciting. The reason i went was threefold. Visit Friends, Coney Dogs, and the 2007 DEMF, Detroit Music Festival. Richie Hawtin, Booka Shade, King Britt, and other people i was kind of heard of. It was cool tho, a lot of break dancing, call & response, people running in the fountain, boats going by the river that separates Detroit from Windsor, Canada. You should have been there… maybe next year eh? Well if you go, bring a digital camera to take a pictures of some of the set-ups the djs and mc’s got hooked up. There were plenty of Mac Book Pros to be had, as electronic music and the best hardware do go hand in hand.

iTunes to lose Radio Feature?!

May 22, 2007

i recently came across the news at the apple blog that iTunes isSave net radio! likely to lose their radio stations. This would be devastating to many offices, homes, and campuses around the globe. Not only iTunes, would go, but almost every net radio station out there, podcasts, web casts, and every audio creative is affected by this. DO Something. IT IS IMPORTANT that you vote to keep internet radio free. Please call your senator and express your concern to save internet radio. Find out more @ SaveNetRadio.org

The Cult of Mac & “Steve’s Church.”

May 21, 2007

The cult of the Macintosh personal computer comes as i’m sure no surprise to many readers of this blog, but it is accelerating and seems to be picking up speed. Just look at the laptop market, 10% – that may not seem like much, but an entire OS goes with it. Also, the ipod, and heck, this weekend i had a conversation with my mac-less friend (ipod notwithstanding) about the iPhone, mac bible koran he’s getting it. The day it comes out. i Think. Anyway, the exact date is not important, the fact that Apple and its pleazed customer base is. i Should mention that my g5 slammed shut with a kernal error today, everything is up to date, it wasn’t running any big programs, and just shut down. Why would that happen? (it’s not the first time either, yikes!) In any case, i am still happy about my mac and glad it is here to type on, and i’m glad there are so many other people excited about them too. The more the merrier they say….

Now i just pray that my g5 turns on in the morning. Let’s have a great week Apple fans!

Microsoft: Ch-ch-ch-changes.

May 18, 2007

Microsoft changes?aquatative logo

“Naw dog, can’t b.”

Oh hell yeah. Today the powerful and universally feared mega-corp paid over 6 billion dollars to acquire ad firm aQuantive. Considering aQuantive was the #1 competitor to the Google’s recently purchased doubleclick for 3.1 billion, it makes you think. They are both becoming ad companies and search/products are on the side – they are on the hunt for gold. i should point out that i think that the two recently purchased ads companies have a bit of irony in their namesakes. Here’s how:

Google struck first, bought a company called, Doubleclick. They got it at a deal that allegedly beat out both rivals Microsoft & Yahoo. So those two got together had a little “coffee talk” decided tea time was over as Microsoft is a software company and Yahoo is a “content” company. So this week Micrsoft struck back at Google, Inc. and “doubleclicked” them themselves. meaning they paid twice the amount for their rival aQuantative. Get it? 3.1 billion + 3.1 billion = roughly 6 billion dollars.

This was not what they wanted to do. They wanted to pay say 3 billion for double click, lost that somehow, and bit back, although with a 3 billion loss. More or less.vista logo

In the long term it won’t matter they had to do it. Did they want to? Not likely.. but Google, Inc. is on such a rampage, Microsoft has to keep up. They have to become more like Google and concentrate on ads, marketing, and boost their on-line presence.

They are no longer a software company. They are now a bigger company with more facets and more foibles ahead (please “live search” for over 230 patent violations against open source) or just read the open letter by Johnathon Schwartz (dated May 15, 2007) where i comment on his open letter to Microsoft (not directly to them, but kinda) that he has big brass balls. Well so does Microsoft and they just got bigger.

FSJ Book Deal

May 18, 2007

Fake Steve Jobs, or affectionately known as FSJ has landed a book deal reportedly worthfsj a cool $75,000.00. You might be familiar with his diaries, or that i continually ask him to put lemon or apple tea in the third floor vending machine to no avail. Anyway, not bad for fake person, i wonder if he will get paid in real dollars… if so, how about them apples?
